The casting was set in early September.

For more than 60 years, Trojan Development Co. has been a trusted name in Michigan construction. Founded in the 1960s by the late Mr. Cinader, the company has always been rooted in hard work, adaptability, and family. Today, owner Tim Cinader and his son, Jason Cinader, carry forward that legacy, blending tradition with innovation as they bring projects to life that strengthen communities across Southeast Michigan.

Tim entered the business in 1980, when Trojan was primarily focused on home building. But as the housing market shifted, the company adapted, finding new opportunities to keep its teams busy and its reputation strong. That ability to evolve has carried the Cinader family business through generations. Jason, who grew up in the business, joined the team as soon as he was old enough—continuing the hands-on approach and commitment to excellence that Trojan is known for.

Most recently, Trojan Development has been at the heart of an exciting community improvement project in downtown Fenton. The company is replacing the Millpond Park pedestrian bridge, transforming it from a simple crossing into a true landmark. The new 12-foot-wide bridge will feature a stone façade, decorative railing, and uplighting that not only connects the park to the gazebo, but also creates a welcoming centerpiece for residents and visitors alike.

In late August, Trojan placed the precast sections of the bridge—a complex operation that required precise crane work to rotate and set each piece perfectly into place. As with many historic sites, surprises arose during excavation. Crews uncovered old wood footings and even coal remnants from the days when trains once ran along the river. These unexpected finds required careful cleanup before construction could continue.

With the foundation now set, the next steps include installing walkouts to connect the bridge to the land and partnering with other trades to complete the finishing touches. Once complete, Millpond Park will offer far more than a new bridge: kayak and canoe launches, a new play structure, and enhanced walkways will tie downtown Fenton more seamlessly to City Hall and surrounding spaces, creating new opportunities for gathering, recreation, and connection.

Trojan Development is proud to be part of this transformation, working alongside OHM Advisors, who are providing construction engineering and oversight.

Crane operators on site are a key part in setting the pieces over the river.

For the Cinader family, the project represents more than just another job site—it’s a chance to build something lasting for the community.

“Every project we do is personal,” says Jason. “We’ve always believed in building spaces that people can enjoy for years to come. This bridge is something that will connect families, friends, and neighbors—and that’s what makes the work worthwhile.”

From homebuilding roots to community landmarks, Trojan Development Co. continues to prove that family values, craftsmanship, and a commitment to community can build more than structures—they build lasting legacies.
